Ready or not, back-to-school season is here! Whether you're homeschooling, unschooling, or sending your kids back to traditional elementary, here are a few of our favorite tips and tricks for a great start to the new school year.
Start Planning
As a parent, sometimes it may seem difficult to cover all of the bases. The first tip is to make sure you have a set curriculum and the resources to achieve it. We all want the best for our kids' education and we want to make sure we're giving them every opportunity to succeed. With a curriculum in place for the year, your upcoming school year should feel fun and easy. Some of our favorite Charter Schools are iLead, Sky Mountain, Compass Charter, and Sage Oak. Each of these Charter Schools accepts GIGIL STEM Kits!
Get Your Kids Excited The second tip is to understand your child's learning style to help them retain the most from their lessons. There are many different learning styles, the most common being visual, aural, read/write, and kinesthetic. Teaching in your child's preferred learning style will not only help them learn the most but will also help them be excited to learn more!
Decorate Your Classroom
Don't put off this simple tip till the last minute! Creating a fun and inspiring environment for both you (the teacher) and your kids will help you both stay motivated throughout the year. You can even involve the kids to let them create an environment that they enjoy. This also leads to them feeling accomplished and they'll enjoy being in the space they're proud of!
Trying to start a new school year can always be stressful! There is always a bit of a new transition but there are ways to make it easier on you and your kids. Follow these three simple tips one step at a time. Home-schooling should be a fun-filled experience with memories you'll remember forever! What are some of your favorite back-to-school tips??
